Good morning, distinguished members of the Drafting Committee,

It is a pleasure to welcome you back to the work of the Drafting Committee.

As I have noted in past meetings, the Declaration of Colombia will be adopted at a crucial moment, as this meeting takes place in a year that is especially significant for our Association, in which we will commemorate the thirtieth anniversary of its constitution. And as we all know, this important milestone coincides with the Thirtieth Ordinary Meeting of the Council of Ministers and the Tenth Summit of Heads of State and/or Government.

The Summit will be a strategic high-level space that will allow us to share with the Member States the new Strategic Vision of the ACS, which will seek to project a renewed and dynamic ACS. It will be the ideal time to achieve a Declaration that positions the Greater Caribbean as a global benchmark in sustainability, climate justice, and peace.

I thank you deeply for your active participation and for your continued dedication. I am confident that, together, we will ensure that this Declaration is an inspiring document that guides our actions, renews our commitment, and, above all, lives up to the expectations of our people and the potential of this great region.
